Balance look good but not sure about right hand - thought hand should have close not open to improve pull (fella who was triathlete who spotted my swimming and he said that hand should have closed) I might be wrong or whatever at Glenn's options

He must be a runner. I'll just reference this:

Style-wise looks just like one of the tri-swimmers I help out.

I don't know a lot about open water swimming, but don't you have to have high shoulders for higher breathing to make sure you clear waves?

that she swims really fast in open water

I see both arms aligned, in 180 degrees form. No so good for gliding.

Responded Aug 08, 2009 05:19PM

thought that when breathing the front arm should stay extended

Looks like the swimmer is not centered around his core enough and thus is slightly lopsided during breathing.

First, I am reminded of watching the swimmer blast past me during the Open Water clinic at SwimFest 09. She is incredibly fast. She wriggled between the clinic students like a sea snake.
Second, I wish I could do that...she is able to catch with the left arm while she is still in right recovery, before leftward body rotation. Very few swimmers can do this! Her shoulders must be incredibly flexible. Her uncommon talent allows her to capture all of the power of body rotation and swim efficiently with a very high stroke rate.

You have that swimmer correct radswimmer. Rarely does she come out of the water 2nd... If ever. Per usual... My "clue" to her skill and talent was the DVD release hint. :)
