Swimming Pic of the Week - July 14, 2011

A couple oldies as we celebrate one of the greatest tools in swimming.

The Finis Center Mount Snorkel has been used by just about every great swimmer for the past many years.  There is obviously a great technique we're trying to point out in both of these pics... so let us know what strikes you.

Really nice rotation in the picture on the left. And in both pictures, incredible reach and extension on the arm out in front. You can see the shoulder against the cheek, very solid, in the left-hand picture and I suspect it is similar in the right-hand picture (but not as easy to see). This is one of the things I like practicing most with my snorkel: reach and rotation.

No gap between shoulder and head. Very nice!

Very steady head! She's keeping it nice and low too.

But Lisa, its a photo, it will always be a steady head... ;)

Full extension with what looks like the fingertips just below the shoulder joint, makes for a clean and painless catch.

nice choice in goggles too.
