Here's a 300-yard mini set that works well as part of a taper practice.

The generous sendoffs make this week's set a good choice for speedwork or taper. Make sure you go FAST when you're supposed to go fast...and EASY (but not sloppy) when you're supposed to go easy.

Speed workout that would work for a taper.

Here's an example of the difference between girls and boys during taper (and pretty much all the time). A short example of pool entries. Enjoy.

There are sets that ask swimmers to descend time while maintaining a certain sendoff. There are sets that ask swimmers to maintain time while tightening the sendoff. There are sets that ask swimmers to descend time AND tighten the sendoff. This week's set is a little different in that it asks swimmers to descend time while ascending (increasing) the sendoff.

Sometimes the toughest thing in any season is the time between two or more championship meets. You can rest completely for one meet, and the qualify for another... NOW what do you do? Now you have to swim fast again... in TWO WEEKS!

Here's a short, quick set that combines stroke-counting and speed. It works well on the day before a meet, when you don't want to do too much, but want to know that your engines are firing and that you can generate easy speed.

While some swimmers are racing in open water this week, others are getting ready for championship meets. This set is for those racing with a black line down below.

Got championships? This week's set can help you taper, but can also be a good anaerobic set at any point in the season.

This week we're posting a set of broken 100s. This would work for an early taper...or a quality set even if you're not tapering.

While it seems a little strange writing a reminder about taper in December, there are many swimmers, from college age to masters, who will be tapering this month.

What should you do 2 or 3 days out from a meet? Here's what our Masters team did a couple days prior to a Masters mini meet on October 3rd.
